We learned to see the world through the lens of competition at an early age. Our parents and most other adults around us reinforced this perspective. Competition is a story created by our fear-driven ego to ensure its survival. Ego says, “We must compete because resources are scarce. If we don’t compete, we’ll ultimately die.” This story is a trap that most of us have bought into, which is ok. But what matters most is awareness of this trap and the extent to which we are allowing the energy of competition to pull us away from our hearts.

  • Society is based on competition

  • Disempowering relationship to competition

  • Collaboration over competition

  • There’s a lot of fear with competition, normally

  • At what point does being competitive become harmful?

  • If I defeat you, the world will be a better place

  • Ego and competitiveness are closely aligned
